Cookery
By Eilene F. Milan)
These breakfast rolls are a
variation of the yeast rolls
recipe recently printed. Cook
them in muffin tins rather
than on a cookie sheet. They
are good served with butter
and fresh fruit.
BREAKFAST ROLLS
cup mazola oil
'■> cup boiling water
Mix and let cool.
>2 cup warm water
1 package yeast
■2 teaspoon salt
1 2 cup packed light brown
sugar
1 egg
1 1 2 teaspoons cinnamon
>2 cup chopped pecans
>2 cup raisins
3 cups all purpose flour
(unsifted)
Dissolve yeast in warm
water. Pour into oil-water
mixture. Add salt, sugar, egg
and cinnamon, and beat well
with wooden spoon. Stir in
raisins and nuts; then flour,
one cup at a time. Cover and
let rise until doubled in bulk
(1 1 2 to 2 hours). Oil hands
and place dough in greased
muffin tins. Let rise 30
minutes longer. Bake at 375
degrees for 20-25 minutes or
until brown.
Glaze rolls while hot. Then
remove from muffin tins.
Yield: 14 rolls.
GLAZE
2 tablespoons butter, melted
l cup powdered sugar
evaporated milk
1 teaspoon grated orange
rind
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Add sugar to melted butter
and stir. Add evaporated
milk in small amounts until
mixture is pourable. Put in
cinnamon and orange rind.
Pour on hot rolls.
CARD OF THANKS
We as adults know when we
hurt, but it’s not that way
with a little squirt, we as
adults can play our hunches,
but the little ones can’t roll
with the punches. Toni
Richardson has been a sick
little child and our fears and
worry could have driven us
wild had it not been for the
tender love and cares and the
ministers of all faiths who
rendered their prayers.
The flowers and gifts and
especially the toys, you know
they just brighten little girls
and boys. The calls we
received at every step we can
never thank you enough for
all your help. Mr. and Mrs.
Russell Richardson and Toni.

In System
Gordon Junior College was
one of only five colleges in
the University System of
Georgia to increase their 1977
winter quarter enrollment
over last winter’s enroll
ment, according to statistics
released by the Board of
Regents office.
Gordon enrolled 1062 stu
dents this quarter, a 5.8 per
cent increase over 1004
students attending in the
winter of 1976. Three senior
colleges and two junior
colleges showed increases.
Dean of the College Dr.
James Strickland comment
ed. "We’re very pleased with
the college’s continued
growth in enrollment which
we believe to be primarily

due to the quality of the
educational experience being
provided Gordon students.
All indications are that this
steady growth pattern will
continue. For example, we
expect that next quarter’s
enrollment will be about 5
per cent greater than the
enrollment of last spring
quarter.”
Since Gordon joined the
University System of Geor
gia in 1972, it has steadily
increased in enrollment.
Twelve-hundred students
attended this past fall and
1102 enrolled in the fall of
1975.
The admissions office
statistics for this winter show
that freshmen outnumber
sophomore, 473 to 333, and t
men outnumber women, 560
to 502. Sixty-one joint
enrollees, 106 special stu
dents. 84 special studies
students, and five transients
are enrolled.
