Point.
Rev. and Mrs. Ed Hoard
visited Mr. and Mrs. Dan
Hoard Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hawley
had as their guests last week

Jersey, Mrs. Jean Boyer and
family of St. Louis, Mo., and
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Ball of

Mr. and Mrs. John Duca of
Orange, Calif, have an
nounced the marriage of
their daughter Pat to Tom
Anderson of Santa Ana,
California. Tom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Mack Anderson
and the grandson of Mrs.
Grace Torbett.
Mr. and Mrs. Mason Uhls
and family of Orlando, Fla.
were weekend guests of Mr.
J. T. Bearden. They left
Tuesday to continue their
trip to Chattanooga, Tenn.
and other points in North
Carolina.
Miss Lisa Taylor and Miss
Denise Kelly of Jackson
visited last week with Miss
Janet McHenry in Waynes
boro.

weekend guests of Mr. and

Athens visited Mr. and Mrs.

Local Angler
Is Champ Of
State Parks
Fred Siska, of Jackson,
caught the largest fish in the
July Fourth Fishing Contest
sponsored by the State Park
Division of the Georgia
Department of Natural Re
sources.
Siska’s winning fish was a
10-pound largemouth bass
measuring 24 inches long
that was taken at High Falls
State Park.
Asa winner in one of the
four divisions of the contest,
the Siska family will be
awarded a weekend stay in a
Georgia State Park cottage
of their choice.
Other winners included
George Vaughn, of Mcßae,
who caught a 1 lb. 2 oz.
bream at Little Ocmulgee
State Park near Mcßae.
William P. Kitchens, of
Thomson, caught a 4 lb. 13 oz.
catfish at Hamburg State
Park near Mitchell.
Winner of the mountain
trout division was Bobby
York, of Cornelia, who
caught a 12 and 4-10’s inch
trout at Moccasion Creek
State Park near Clarkesville.
