Miss Rachel Stell, Harry Lewis

the engagement and forth
coming marriage of their
daughter, Rachel Ann Stell,
to Harold Gervin Lewis, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Gervin
Richard Lewis of Jackson,
Ga. Rachel is the grand
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank A. Mitcham of
Hampton and the late Mr.
and Mrs. Hugh M. Stell of
Fayetteville.
Miss Stell graduated from
Henry County High School
and attended Griffin Area
Vocational Tech School. She
is now employed in the
Branch office of the Social
Security Administration in

Georgia College and was
graduated from the Univer
sity of Georgia. He is
affiliated with Carter Motor
Company in Jackson.
The wedding will be August
27 at three o’clock at
Hampton United Methodist
Church.

August 14-17 for an education
w orkshop presented by Gold
en Eagle Cheerleader

The annual A. M. (Tobe)
Smith reunion was held at the
Worthville Masonic hall on
July 24th with a large
number of family and friends
gathered to enjoy the day.
Due to sickness Bill and
Velma Smith of Blakely, also
Mrs. Ben Moss of Jackson,
were unable to attend. It was
voted that the reunion be held
again next year at the Lodge
Hall on the 4th Sunday in
July.

BPW CONVENTION
Jane Powell, delegate from
the Jackson Business and
Professional Women’s Club,
returned Friday, July 29th,
from Louisville, Kentucky
where over 4,000 delegates,
alternates, and guests were
in attendance.
Mrs. Powell traveled with
the Georgia delegation which
left of Friday, August 22nd.
The group toured Bardston,
Old Kentucky Home, horse
farms, and other points of
interest in Lexington and the
state capitol of Frankfort on
Saturday.
Dorothy Thomas of Coch
ran, who still maintains
membership in the Jackson
club, served as alternate.
Miss Thomas was also in
charge of transportation and
tours.
National President, Jane
Culbreth of Leeds, Alabama,
was presiding officer.
Mrs. Riidani C. Desha,
Hilo, Hawaii, was installed
as 1978 president.
The 1978 convention will be
held in San Juan, Puerto
Rico.

Mrs. Terry Price and sons,
Jim and Cliff, of Jenkins
burg, spent several days
visiting Mrs. Sarah Gessa
man in Albany. Mrs. Price
took her daughter and
grandsons on a pleasant trip
to Florida. They first visited
Mr. Joe G. Jones, uncle of
Mrs. Price, in Jacksonville,
thus completing the Jones
reunion and from there they
visited St. Augustine and
then White Springs, with a
tour of the Stephen Foster
Memorial. The trip was part
of several presents given to
Jim for his 12th birthday,
which he celebrated before
leaving home. After having a
great time, the Prices are
glad to be home again, and
brought memories enough to
last a life time.
