Whipple. Position in Re- of Court laski County: ed what my in :» the following state tliat I have scted to* the leg-j It a Constitution >nt regal’d t<> the e. y, in Fehruary, y court and es- Court of Pulas- Fmty” as laid down in the !. This court has four sessions tr, in March, June, September, iweeniher. One accused of crime Wn this court cannot lie tried at any ' other time without his consent, and he still has the right to give hond and demand indictment by the jury, as was t ,e ease in the county court. It would lie one year, if I were e lected, before I could assume the office; and by that time from first hand information, it can la? known what the court is. The proof of the pudding is the eating of it, and the present court should stand or fall on ite own merits. If a trial of it shows that it is better than the old court, keep it; if had it should be abolished. I believe that any court, however established, should preserve the right of the ac cused to demand indictment by the grand jury. If elected represenatative, I will at all times strive to represent the people in their best ieterests, sub jecting my private opi ions to the will of the majority. 'Phis is what I understand to#tie representative, democratic government. I have no intention of imposing on the county what it does not want or serving personal ends. Thanking my friends for their as surances of support, I am, Very truly, L. A. Wiiipple. Public Speaking at Opera House. Tuesday Afternoon, May 17th, at 4:00. Hon. John L. This will lie an important occasion for the farmers and business men of our vicinity, and we feel sure these gentlemen will he greeted by a large and enthusiastic audience —Agricul- ture takes precedence over every thing else in this part of the coun try. No doubt these addresses will lie beneficial to the farmer, and what ever is to the interest of the farmer, is also to the interest of all other business classes throughout this country —We have a co-existent and interdependent community, and there should lie a thorough co-oper ation between the town and country in all matters pertaining to their mutual interest. These gentlemen will speak at the Farmers County Union meeting at Sparrow school house, Wednes day May 18th. A barbecue and dinner will tie prepared for the crowd, and the public is cordially invited to attend. If you want a nice table, mantel piece, porch swing or mission porch set.
