Anti-lobbying Bill
The Anti-lobbying bill, introduced
by the Hon. Barry Wright of Floyd
county, passed the lower branch of
the Legislature by an almost unani
mous vote.
The measure. provides that all
paid agents of permu*, & m?'or cor
porations working for or against the
passage of any tfrcasnriwsliall regis
ter llieir names with the Secretary
of State giving the names of the
party or parties they represent. It
is also required that principals rep
resented by paid agents shall file
with the Secretary of State an ac
count of all expenses incurred by
them in having their interests rep
resented. This is a good bill and
the Senate should pass it, without
delay. It is somewhat peculiar
that it has been referred to the
Committee on Banks and Banking
Why that particular committee
should have special jurisdiction over
a matter of this kind we fail to
understand and hope the Senate
wont i tempt to side-track this im
portant measure.
