Miss Henman
Weds Mr. Rogers
Yesterday morning it liecame
known that on the night of Septem
ber 9th, nearly two months ago,
Miss Jule Herrman and Mr. O. T.
Rogers were united in marriage.
; The marriage was solemized on
the steps of the Carnegie librarv,
Judge J. R. Green officiating. Mr.
John H. Guyton was the only wit;
ness.
The young couple, the gentleman
who performed the ceremony and
the witness were “mum” as a grave
yard and no inkling of the marriage
was allowed to creep out.
They were known as sweethearts
but the surprise was that the mar
riage was kept a secret so long.
The bride is the daughter of the
late Judge Elias Herrman, of East
man. The objections on the part
of the relatives of the bride were
that Mr. Rogers is a gentile. The
bride has lived in Dublin for a
nifmber of years aud is a young
woman of fine character and intell
igence.
Mr. Rogers is connected with his
father, Mr. W. B- Rogers, in the
cotton business, and is a man full
of promise. He is popular among
his frietids and prominent in Elk
circles.
The bride and groom left for Af
lanta Wednesday afternoon. They
informed a very few intimate friends
of their marriage and gave them
permission to let it he known after
| 6 o’clock Tliursdav.
Mr. and Mrs. Rogers will have
rooms with Mr. and Mrs E. Fred
Borwn, on Oak street —Laurens •
