children of tlie school.
After this “Santa Claus’’ very
attractively distributed the many
gifts from the heavily laden tree.
Much to the surprise of all “San

TO TLIE CITIZENS OF
BLECKLEY COUNTY
After consulting expert legal
authority, I find that there has
been no provision made in regard
to the duties or compensation of
the Commissioner of Roads and
Revenues of Bleckley County, and
nothing can be done in this re
spect until the legislature meets
next June. Although I have been
duly elected to the office it leaves
me without any legal authority to
a*-t in that capaci v, I therefore
take this means of notifying Bleck
ley County citizens that although I
appreciate to the fullest extent the
favor that they have conferred on
me and fully intended to enter
their service after the County was
formed, I cannot under the cir
cumstances, do justice to myself
and the people who elected me to
attempt to discharge the duties of
the office without a clear under
standing of my legal duties. ,
Again thanking you for your lib
eral support and friendship.
Very Respectfully
J. B. Hixson.
MOVED TO DANVILLE
By some inadvertant slip this pa
pier failed to mention that our
gonial friend J. 11. Ward and hi>
most excellent family had left our
city to take up their residence in
Danville, Ga. Last week we failed
to record the birth of our grand
daughter and our son remarked
that we always left out of the paper
the most important events.
Now we wish to say that any
town in the State of Georgia, that
is fortunate enough to secure Tn
cle Jimmie Ward” as he is familiar
ly called by his friends, secures in
deed a man who piossesses all the
qualifications and high ideals of a
natural born gentleman, Gentle
as a woman, and as polite as a
Chesterfield, he won the love and
affection of our people by his sin
cerity and right living. We be
lieve he is an honest man, not only
in the common acceptance of the
term but in its broadest meaning.
We have and will miss this kindly
man at his usual place of business,
where we use to drop in occasional
ly to exchange a few words. He
and his family have our very best
wishes for much success and happi
ness in their new home.
The foundation has been pre
pared, and the material is on the
ground for the erection of the ele
gant new residence of J. H. Mullis,
Jr., on Dublin street.

A MESSAGE
To Feeble Old People.
As one grows old the waste of the
system becomes more rapid than re.
pair, the organs act more slowly and
less effectually than in youth, the cir
culation la poor, the blood thin and
digestion weak.
Vinol, our delicious cod liver and
Iron tonic without oil, ia the ideal
■trengthener and body-builder for old
folks, for lt contains the very ele
ments needed to rebuild wasting tiv
sues and replace weakness with
strength. Vinol also fortifies the sys
tem against colds and thus prevents
pneumonia.
A grandnelce of Alexander Hamil
ton, over eighty years of age, once
remarked: “Vinol is a godsend to old
people. Thanks to Vinol, I have a
hearty appetite, sleep soundly, feel
active and well. It is the finest tonic
and strength-creator I have ever
used.”
If Vinol fails to build up the
feeble old people, and create
strength, we will return your money.
