The first game resulted in a score of 3to 1 in favor of Cochran. The second game 10 to one favor of East Point and the tnird game 1 to 3 in favor of the home team. All three games were well patro nized, and great enthusiasm prevail ed when (Tehran won the champ ionship in a hard fought contest. The E;\st Point team is composed of some of the best Amateur players in the state and they are royal good fellows. Good fellow ship prevailed between the two teams during the entire contest and the East Point boys left Cochran, with prasises for the royal hospi tality with which they were enter -1 taind. We give below a detailed account of the games won by Cochran. There is nothing to say about the second game except some of our players went to pieces and East Point, with big “Joe” in the box, put it all over Cochran to the tune of 10 to 1, however the hoys fully redeemed themselves Wednesday by putting up a first class game, de feating the fast East Point team in a score of 4 to 3. Caught ’Em on the Fly." V What it took to defeat the Chani- Cochran had it. It was not luck o r accident that did the work hut hard playing, good pitching, good catching, good batting and fielding. Pickett lead off with a tivo bagger to center, the next three men were struck out by Lester, pulling himself out of a had hole (Hewell, Wise and Morris.) 1 Hit, 0 Runs, 0 Error. Norris Hied out to center, Neal out second to first, Jackson singled and on wild pitch took second. Burns singled to left field and Jack son scored Burns,- taking second, when left fielder fumbled the hall, Suddetli struck out. 1 Run, 2 Hits, 2 Errors. 4th, Innirg. Suddeth was safe when third baseman errored his grounder, Burns sacrificed pitcher to first, Ellison flied out to left field, Taylor got a single scoring Suddeth, Norris laced out a two bagger, Taylor tak ing third, Neal got a, timely single scoring 'Taylor and Norris. At this point Skelton, Eastman’s cracker, was removed from the mound, Duke relieving him, Lester struck out retiring the side. Oth Lining. Kingery was safe when Vonderaux errored hi s grounder, Riggins singled to right field, Lester thinking it a foul did not return it promptly allowing Kingery to score and Riggins to take second, Hewell singled, scor ing Riggins, Wright fouled out to first. Wise Hit. a hot grounder to second which allowed Neal to start one of the quickest double plays ever seen in these parts, Neal to Bowden to Ellison.
