fDear Brother* Editor: Kindly
allow me to speak to our friendly

manifestation of your love and
appreciation.

SUNDAY AT BROXTON.
The Sunday School Conventicn
of Coffee County in
Session.
Last Sunday was a very inter
esting day in Broxton for tl at
beautiful town, full of some cf
the State’s best people, were en
tertaining the Sunday School
Convention which had been in
session since Friday night before.
We cannot give any thing like
a report for we were not fortu
nate enough to secure a report
from Secretary Roberts.
Among the speakers from
Douglas on Sunday were Hon.
W. P. Ward and Mayor W. C.
Lankford. The latter delivered
a sublime address on “Hope,”
the former conducted the child
ren’s mass meeting in the after
noon, both acquiting themselves
handsomely in the different
parts assumed.
Tk J e r from the field at
large, on Sunday SchoolW.ork,
was good, but not as large as
those enthusiastic workers ex
pected.
Bro. C. C. Buchanan, of Way
cross, was present, and besides
his blackboard instructions, made
several interesting and instruc
tive discourses.
Mr. N. M. Pafford, of Nichols,
was re-elected President, and our
fellow townsman, Col. L. E.
Heath was elected Secretary.
Resolutions of thanks to the
people of Broxton were adop v ed
by a rising vote, and in this con
nection the Enterprise returns
thanks to Mr. R. B. Taylor and
Col. Curry, of the firm of S. P.
Collins & Co., for entertaining
its delegation and for the numer
ous courtesies shown them.
No selection was made for a
place in which to hold the next
convention.
The Sunbeams had a picnic at
the Springs Monday. The child
ren all enjoyed the day very
much. They were chaperoned
by Mrs. Lawson Kelly and Miss
Dollie Freeman.

flcLean, da., May 13rd, 1906.
Owing to the fact that the
surveyor had serious sickness in
his family, losing his mother by
death, and he himself seriously
sick for some time, the survey
ing v as 1 ot complete and was in
no shape for the drawing to take
place at McLean as set.
Those who held lots very kind
ly consented for the drawing to
be postponed until the above
date, at which time Mr. Chris
tain informs us everything will
be in first class condition, and
ready for the drawing.
There is a strong probability
of McLean making a good towr,
and those who hold lots express
themselves as being extremely
pleased with the outlook. V e
feel confident that they will not
be disappointed, as we have ye
to learn of the party who has in
vested in Coffee county land*
who lost money. Twelve years
ago Fitzgerald was in the woods,
as McLean is now, but if you
want to see one of the best towr s
in Georgia, take a day off and
come down to Fitzgerald. Of
course, present company, Doug
las is excepted, we are speaking
of colony towns, and not of
towns built, in the good old fas’ -
ion way. When we speak of
towns of this kind of course
Douglas heads the list.
No man makes a mistake when
he decides to cast his lot with
Coffee county and her good peo
ple. We need 50,000 more peo
ple and we are going to work (o
this end. Coffee county can
easily accommodate that many
more and then have room to
spare. We want them to locate
with us, at Douglas, Broxton-,
Willacoochee, Nichols, Ambrose,
Bushnell, McDonald, Pearson,
Chatterton, McLean, or any
where else they may desire, so
they are within the boundary of
Coffee county. Let them come
and in large numbers. Come to
McLean the 23rd of May, and do
not forget to come to the great
Coffee County Fair at Douglas,
Nov. 6,7, 8, 9 and 10, 1906.
A Card of Thanks.
I desire to thank the Methodist
Church for the kindness shown
me in presenting me with’The
Bible” last Sunday. It came to
me as a very pleasant surprise,
and will ever be cheerished by
me. While I have always tried
to do the best possible, this
token of esteem will be an
incentive to do my very best in
future, I would like to express
my thanks in words, but as this
could only be a partial expression
at best, I accept the bible, as
suring the donors that it, ts
they, will ever be highly esteem
ed and held in reverence.
Very Truly,
Inez Turrentine.

LETTER TO B. H. TANKER * SOW,

Dear Sirs: Mesers Leachman
6 Edelin, Grafton, W Va, had
been selling a paint, which they
thjught well of; and this had
o tcured.
They had sold a customer 18
gallons of it to paint his house.
A few years later, they sold the
same man Devoe lead-and-zine
the same number of gallons to
paint the same house. He had
7 gallons left.
Tne point of the tale is; 11 gal
lons Devoe paints an 18 gallon
house.
Do you want to sell it ?
Of course, that isn’t all.
Why does 11 gallons Devoe go
is far as 18 gallons of other
riint? Because it is all paint,
all true, no sham, and full meas
ure.
Do you want to sell it ?
But that isn’t all. Devoe lasts
longer. No, no; you h;-vn’t got
to wait ten years to find that out*
Ten thousand people know it
Ve’ve got their names. Our
‘gents know them; thev think a
heap of Devoe. There’s no dif
ficuity in showing your towns
people what to expect of Devoe.
ulO will paint a sls house; and
he paint’ll last twice as long.
Do you want tc sell it ?
Yours trulv.
