Proposed Law.
An effort is going to be made
to induce the coming legislature
to pass a law prohibiting the ship
ping of whiskey to dry counties.
As the complexion of this legis
lature is overwhelmingly in favor
of prohibition, such a law will
surely pass, if constitutional. —
Madison Advertiser.
This is one of the bills to be
passed at the coming sessions of
the legislature. The people of
prohibition counties don’t want
any orders from the : r thirsty
citizens fdled by the express com
pany or the liquor houses. The
courts have held, however, that
state legislatures cannot regulate
the business done by dealers from
outside of the state. —Sav Press.
