frinds. They will be away several

Mrs. C. H, Ross ad little son, Craig,
j left Saturday afternoon for their new
| home in Knoxville. Mr. Ross accomp
anied them as far as Waycross, and
[ will follow them about Aug. 20.
Mrs. O. F. Deen and children and
Mrs. T. S. Deen left Friday morning
for St. Simons Island, where they will
occupy a cottage with Mrs. W. R.
Frier a ltd children, until Aug. 15.
Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Price and Miss'
Lillian, and their two guests, Misses
Minderhout and Parrish, left Sunday
for St. Simons to spend a week. Mr.
j Price remained there until Wednes
day, returning home.
Mr and Mrs. F. F. Preston had as
their guests this week, Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Preston, of Swainsboro. Mr.
Preston formerly lived in Broxton
and has many friends here who were
glad to see him again.
Senator C. A. Ward has returned to
Atlanta after spening several days
at home, where he was somewhat in
disposed. He was well enough to get
on the job again thi week and will
1 remain there until the close of the

session.

Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Lott and Stand
ford Lott, left Sunday for Jackson
ville, Fla., to spend a few days. Miss
Eunice Lott, who has been spending
a while in Valdosta at a house party,
will join her mother and spend a week
in Jacksonville.
Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Salter and son
Burke, returned home Friday from a
delightful trip to Detroit, Niagara,
New York and Washington. They
were away ten days. Mr. Salter says
that they had a great trip and enjoyed
every minute of it. They went thru
the big Ford factory at Detroit, ar.d
visited many other places of interest
while away.

the collection of water and light bills.
Those who desire to ake advantage
of the ten per cent discount allowed
on these bills'smust pay same on or
before the fifth of the month, as
there will be ho discount allowed any
one after hat date. All water and
light bills not paid on or before the
tenth of the month will be discontin
ued and will not be reinstalled until
there is a fee of one dollar paid for
same. All bills due the City, for
anything whatever, are payable at
the office of tj»e City Clerk.
