GEOGIA, Coffee County. To the Super
ior Court cf Said County : The petition of
George L. Murkey, F. L. Sweat. K. L. Tan
ner, ('. M. l’orter, Augustus M. Wilcox
and W. I. Christian, all of said State and
County, respectfully shows:
Ist. That they desire for themselves,
their associates, successors and assigns,
to become incorporated under the name
and style of The Markey Trading Com
pany.
2nd. The term for which petitioners ask
tube incorporated is twenty years, with
the privilege of renewal at the end of that
time.
3rd. The capital stock of the corpora
tion is to be Ten Thousand ($lo,ooo.oo)
Dollars, divided into shares of one hun
dred sloo.oo dollars each. Petitioners,
however, ask the privilege of increasing
said stock from time to time not exceeding
in the aggregate twenty Five Thousand
($25,000.00 Dollars.
4th. The whole of said capital stock of
Ten Thousand Dollars has already been
actually paid in.
sth. The object of the proposed corpor
ation is pecuniary profit and gain to its
stockholders. Petitioners propose to carry
on a wholesale and retail mercantile busi
ness and to deal in dry goods, groceries,
hardware, furniture, notions, millinery
and all such articles and goods as are
usually handled by general merchants;
buying and selling for cash or on credit,
all of said articles and all such otner ar
ticles and things as may be profitably
handled and sold in connection therewith;
acting as general or special agents for oth
er persons or companies in selling or hand
ling any articles or class of articles appro
priate to the general mercantile business,
or usually or conveniently connected there
with, and to make contracts to act as
such agent, and to exercise the usual pow
ers and to do all usual, necessary and
proper acts which pertain to or may be
connected with the business of wholesale
and retail dealers in the articles named,
including the business of dress making.
6th. The principal office and place of
business of ffaid corporation shall be in the j
city of Douglas, ana State of Georgia.
Wherefore petitioners pray to be made a
body corporate under the name and style
