The election of town officers held
was held last Monday resulted ae fol
lows; for mayor J. G. Roberts, for
Councilmen B. F. Summerlin, Gray
Meeks, Gid Gaskin, A. P. Padgett.
D. E. Gaskin, and /. F. Shearer. The
citizens are well plessed with the
above results, and feel assured that
the interest of their town will be care
fully looked after during the year ’S6.
Mr. E. Paulk who has been sffering
for some time from a complicated
case of malaria fever is resting very
well, and the attending physician
tiling* that he is slightly better thia
morning.

We learn that Mr. Joe Vickers and
Miss Elizabeth Daniel the daughter of
Henry Daniel are to get married at
the home of the bride’s father to-day
at ten o’clock. We wish them a
pleasant journey through life.
Prof. W. R. Skinner opened school
last Monday with abmt 23 pupils.

forgot the occasion and went on his
knees to a girl. She said she would
not have a man who would address
her leap year and tom remembered
and sadly went his way.
The first mayor’s court was held on
Wednesday. Two whole families*of
ebony kue entered into a melee down
on the Midway and Mayor Ward gave
