its editorial columns this
week. He may he at heart as dirfy
as the author, hut his ignorance is too
i dense and apparent to soar to such
'heights of calumny and mud-slinging.
\Ve know the author by the car
marks, and'.he is beneath our notice.
Wo have never engaged it: a mud
slinging contest with anyone and we
never expect to do so. All this trouble
grew out of our exposure of a certain
shameful, unprincipled and secret con
tract. They cannot squirm out of it,
hence they seek to divert the attention
<if the public by abusing the editor of
the Breeze. But it won’t work; we
have cornered the gang and they
know it.
Our opinion of the editor of the
Leader, or rather the author of that
scurrilous diatribe, may he as bud as
he says his is of us, and, perhaps wo
could use as much invective and strong
language in denouncing him as a
scoundrel and a poltroon, but we do
not care to I'd! our paper with such
vile language.

CO) I KK COUNTY fc'AIR.
That an annual fair for Codec coun
ty would promote the interest of agri
culture, horticulture, manufacturing,
stock raising etc., is an undeniable
Lid. And t Ims is net all it would do.
Beside promoting every branch of in
dustry, there is nothing that would so
dd in developing and displaying the
many natural advantageous resources
of our county, as well as a county
Fair. Whin we look at the thousands
of acres of .unoccttpi -d, unimproved
and uncultivated lands in Coffee
county, it is appalling ; especially so,
when we look at the various crops
successfully grown on the comparative
ly few acres cultivated in the county.
There are other tilings adapted to thi.-
soil and climate, which, if planted and
cultivated here, would doubtless prove
more successful than any of the most
productive crops grown here at pres
ent. A <•■• unty fair would incite ener
gy in the young and old, of both sexes.
They would plant Home new crops,
endeavor to produce more and a better
giu.de of everything, all of which would
lead to more rapid dcvclopcment of
our courtly, and a state of prosperity.
We occasionally have a home seeker,
and if our many advantages of soil,
climate, etc .were properly advertised
this would increase an hundred fold
in twelve months. You may write a
j man of what you have, or you may
• ee him and tell him, hut
(if. these will advertise vonr
oilocts ns well as to let him see with
his own eyes'*
By all mcAs let’s have n coujffy
fair in tlolfee .county in < Rjltfber or
November, IS'.ITfV-S.
—An exchange is responsible for the
following: “Breathes there a man
with soul so dead, who never to him
self hath said, 'l’ll pay. before I go to
bed, the debt I owe the printei;’'
There are some, we know full well,
who never such a tale can tell; hut
they, wo fear, will go to —well, the
place where there’s no winter.”
! La Grippe
If you have had the Grippe,
you know its aches and pains,
the fever, the chills, the’cough,
the depression -you know
th:m all. The Grippe exhausts
the nervous system quickly,
lowers the vitality. Two
thlrjjja should be done at onec:
—the body must be strength
ened, and force must be given
■ to the nervous system. Cod
liver Oil will do the first; Hy
pophosphites the second, These
arc permanently and pleasantly
combined in Scott’s Emulsion.
It lifts the despondency and
heals the inflamed membranes
of the throat and lungs.
But you act'd not have LA
GRIPPE.
You can put your system in
a rendition unfavorable to it.
You can have rich, red blood;
i re&stive strength; steady brain
end nerves. Scott’s Emulsion
prevents as well as cures.
And whether you send or go
for Scott'-s Emulsion, be sure
you get the genuine.
