CONGRESSIONAL CONVENTION
To be Held at Valdosta, Ga, on July
9th, Next.
WaycrosS, Ga , April 19.—Chairman
-McDonald and a quorum of the Elev
enth district executive committee, met
Saturday morning at the Phoenix hotel
and decided to bold the congressional
convention on July 14, in Valdosta
during the mid summer carnivah

the date for selecting delegates, that
being the date fixed by the state ex-c
--ulive committee for a general primary
throughout the state for nominating a

The following ordinances were a*

Be it ordained that the odvalorem
i tax on personal property be repealed
as the city offiers dout. think that the
city will need the extra tax this
year.
Be it ordained that on and after
this (bate the sections 6 and 7th of the
city ordinances be so amended tvs to
read as follows, any person lighting,
cursing quarrelling or using abusive
language cr tmy disturbance within
the incorporation limits he lined a
maximum fine of 20 dollars and costs
or 30 days work on the street.
There being no further business

Odum, Ga. April 19.—Last Saturday
afternoon Mrs. Elizabeth Aspimvall
was tit,own out of a wagon by a muh
and received injuries from which she
died three hours later. Mrs. Aspimvall
was helpless, being In her 74th year

passing ox team and made a break to
run throwing Mrs. Aspinwall from the
wagon and breaking jioth lfer legs and
her shoulder. The wagon ran over
Mrs. Clary and her baby also, serious
ly hut not fatally injuring them.
