—Dr. Nick Peterson of Tifton was
in town Wednesday.
—Mr, C. W. Williams’ family are
improving, we are glad to note.
—The registration books will close
on the night of September 14th.
—Mrs. J. W. Quincey is off on a visit
to Lake City and Jasper, Florida.
—Miss Tip Douglas and Mr. J.
Frank Hall are on the sick list this
week.
—Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Fielding
visited relatives and friends at Lelia
ton this week.
—Dr. Tim Kirkland contemplates
opening a deutal office in Douglas in
the near future.
—Every democrat in the county
must come to Douglas on the first
Monday in September.
—Magistrate’s summons and fifas

—We understand that temporary
banking quarters will be arranged in

—Mr. TANARUS, J. Davis has rented the
drug store building of C. E. Baker and
will open up a racket store therein,
—Nearly all the negroes from
Blount’s, Pace’s and Gaskin’s stills were
here as witnesses in City - court Tues
day.
—Elder Jno. Vickers paid our sanc
tum a short call Monday. He seems
to be the choice of the people for Rep
resentative.
—Mr. Hendrix Quincey’s school,
near Ben Morris’ plantation, closed
Tuesday. Mr. Quiucey will cuter
school at Abbeville in a few weeks.
—Mr. Return Strickland and Miss
Lydia Minix came in from Ashley’s
still Sunday and had the nuptial knot
tied making them husbaud and wife.
—Cotton will be coming in now in
a few days; then the farmers will all
pay their subscriptions to the Breeze
again, Tim farmers are our best
friends.
—A negro man by the name of Da
vis shot his wife in the thigh Sunday,
at Pace Bros.’ still, near Shepherd,
Jealousy was the cause of the trouble.

who has the good of his party at heart
should be on hand on the first Mon
day in September. Let’s all get to

—lt is shameful negligence in any
man to send his wife, daughter or pa
rent off to spend the summer, without

—The meeting of the Democrat!
committees last Satuiday was largely
attended. There were about one
hundred enthusiastic democrats in the
meeting. A great many matters of
importance were discussed, and plans
were made for the county campaign.

The Waycross Air Line Railway.

A bank with $25,000 capital.
A cotton warehouse.
A brick block, to be owned by the
bank company.
We are sure of the above, with a
number of smaller enterprises too ted
ious to mention, and next year the
town will be large enough to justify
the town authorities in boring an
artesian well, paving the main streets
and putting in an electric light plant.
Then there will bo no heading off
the town in its onward march. Its
future will be assured and it will be a
formidable competitor for Waycross
and Fitzgerald.

lots of timber from Tom Corbett about
nine miles from this place, and will

timber at an ealy date. This is the
timber that Mallett Bros, have been
trying to buy for seme time. Their
timber being nearly exhausted, and
failing to get Mr. Corbett’s will cause
them to move soon.
