The History of Mao.
Man’s life is full of crosses and
temptations. He comes into this
world without his consent, goes out ,‘tff
it against his will and finds that his
trip between the two entries is exceed
ingly rocky. The rule of contraries is
one of the important features. bt his
trip. When he is little the ’big girl?
kiss him and when he is big the little
girls kiss him. If he raises a large
family he is a chump, bpt if he raises
a small check he is a thief and a fraud
and is shunned like the Chinaman
with the seven year itch. If he is poor
he is a bad manager; if he is rich he
is dishonest. If ho is in politics, it’s
for office; if he is out of politics, you
cant tell where to place him and bo i
no good to his country. If he does an
act of ehnrity it is for policy; if l.e
don’t he is a stingy cuss and lives only
lor himself. He is introduced to this
world by a doctor and to the next by
the same process. 'I he road is rocky
but man likes to travel it.
A Quad-Mac’s Offioioa.
Ordinary Thomas Young, one of the
best citizens and cleverest men of
Coffee county says if the llreeze suc
ceeds in getting a half rote fare for the
people to go to Waycross and Douglas
one time each month, over the Air
Line, that everv man in the county
ought to take the paper and pay for it.
Ordinary Young will have to pay that
dollar pretty soon, for Mr. Johnson
s.iya we shall have the one fare late,
and it only remains for Mr. Hawkins
to fix tho date.
Watch these colums and let the first
day of this new departure he a rousing
turnout, and pay the railroad compa
ny for its enterprise and public spirit.
