Citizens Meeting Monday Night.
A citizens meeting has been called
to meet iu Douglas ou Monday night
next for the purpose of making au or
ganized effort to persuade the Way
cross Air Line Company to give Doug
las a lower freight rate. The move
ment will be endorsed and participated
in by a number of business men o!
neighboring towns and villages who
will make other arrangements for the: j
shipping if the reduction in rates is
not made, On accouut of the large
volume of shipping done at Douglas
and taking into consideration the fact
that the amount would be increased
thereby, the Breeze belives that the
Air Line people would do well to give
Douglas a special freight rate.
The people of Dougla, wiWi scarce
ly au exception, are friendly to the
Air Line and are pleased to sec it pros
per. Wo believe that a much better
freight business cau be built up at
this place with a little extra induce
ments from the management of the
road.
