1 BRIEF AND BREEZY. |
—J. A. Jones, of Waycross, come to
town early in the week.
—Brother J. N. Hartley will preach
at Williams Chapel to-morrow.
c —Mrs. E A. Back and Miss Ethel
accompanied Mr. Buck to court this
week.
—The postoffice has been moved to
more comfortable quarters in rear of
the Breeze office.
—Messrs. Paulk & McClure, of Wil
lacoochee, and their mules and horses
came over on Monday.
—Rev. E. M. Whiting, P. E. preach
ed an excellent sermon at the Metho
dist church Jast Sunday night.
—Through a misunderstanding
brother Dickinson had a small con
gregation last Sunday morning.
—Geo. Wooten, one of the best
salesmen in Georgia is behind the
counters at Watson’s this week.
—lf you have not given in your
town property, you’d better look out;
you are liable to be double taxed.
—First thing you know you will
hear about a Sunday School picnic
over at the camp-ground. Yes, you
will be there.
—Savannah Morning News Stone
was on hand this week, drumming
for a sewing machine, his valuable
paper thrown in as a premium.
—Last week’s Waycross Journal:
“Our lawyers will bathe their faces in
Coffee next week.” Yes, and we tack
led some of ’em to “shell out,” too.
They shelled.
—A number of our subscribers were
in town this week but failed to call
and see us. If the Breeze fails to
call and see them a time or two they
complain about it.
Shoes? Yes, at Watson’s,
you’ll find just as good line of
Shoes as in any citV store.
—First man that subscribed and
paid his dollar for the Breeze this week
was brother E. M. Whiting. He is a
good man, a scholar and a gentleman
and if there is anything better he is
that, too.
—The railroads have not run all
the varmints out of the country. We
saw two or three two-legged ones in
town Monday, that didn’t have sense
enough to stand aside on the side
walk for a lady to pass.
—Mark Hanna and his frined Mc-
Kinley, have returned to Washington,
without calling at this office and set
tling for the Breeze. Just such squirts
as they are will keep us run-down-al
the-lieels as long as we live.
—There will be services, morning
and evening at the Baptist church at
Douglas to-morrow. You are expect
ed ; bring your wife, sweetheart or
friend. If you haven’t either don’t
go ; preaching wou’t do you any good.
Men’s Summer Shirts, in
pretty colors, from 25c. up.
Brad Watson, Dougtas.
—A negro by the name of Seabrook,
near Willacooohee, last week, borrow
ed a mule from Mr. Arnold without
permission and rode it down to Wares
boro where he traded it off for a horse
for himself. Mr. Arnold has the horse
and the negro is in jail.
—The Waycross Journal has a beau
tiful picture of Coffee comity’s pros
pective courthouse on its front page
last week. If the Journal ain’t up to
snuff we don’t know the reason.
Nothing good or pretty passes Dan’s
way that he doesn’t tackle.
