Mr. Charlie Henderson killed
his lino pig last Monday and it
tipped the scales at B01 pounds,
he secured about To pounds raise of
lard. Charlie says it pays to
large hogs.
Mr Lark Hargrove intends to
pen a dozen hogs next year, We
wish him much success in the pork
business.
On one night last week a rogue
was chased from the fowl house of
Mrs. Weeks. The chicken house
was right near a pen of fat hogs,
and we are not sure whether he
was after a chicken or a hog. He
was detected hv a watchful little
dog and aroused by the report of
a shotgun.
The new saw mill owned by
Messrs. Reid & Arthur has been
put up on Mr. Frank Parkerson’s
place. We can’t say how many
’ hands they will work, but come
on boys, we suppose you can get
work. We wish for the new com¬
pany much success.
We are expecting to have a
Christmas tree in the vicinity of
Crossroads and it will be in honor
of the young people. We are not
sure yet as to the place, but all
are invited to notify Santa Claus,
so their children will not he disap
