various occassions has made her

she goes she wins the friendship

Rev: J. T. Sexton closed the
great revival here last Sunday:
He preached some entereting
sermons and touched the heart
of those tfiat had boen silent
for man years. The effect of
this meeting will finger in the
heaarts of the people for many
years.
J. A. McWhorter, one of the
most prominent men of Lioer-
ty, S. C., passed through town
Thursday morning enroute to
his brother’s home, R. F. Mc¬
Whorter. Fie gave our office
a pleasant call. We are always
glad to have our friends come
to see us. Mr. McWhorter will
be in the county several days
visiting relatives and friends.
Hurrah for The Canon Echo,
it has alwars fought for right
and justice. We congratulate
it on the article which appeared
in the last issue in which it
gives a strong appeal for hor-
esty and justice. It is believed
by some of Howard’s strongest
supporters that he will not
test for another hot campaign.
We are glad to say we stood

Hon. S. J. Tribble will speak
in the court house at the noon
recess hour Tuesday of next
week. Everybody is invited
to come out and hear his ad¬
dress. Col. T. W. Rucker will
also address the people at the
same hour in the court hou e.
Col. Rucker will tell the people
how the committee contested
the congressional ballot box of
Elbert county. This is a very
interesting subject and a large
audience will enjoy both of
these ., speeches. i
