Miss Lucy Harrison who has
been seriously ill for the past
two weeks is slowly improving.
Miss Harrison has many friends
here who are very much inter-
esd in her and wish her a rapid
recovery,

guest of Mr. J. T. Whiteside.
He is a Virginian by Dirth, but
has resided in Georgia 30 years
and is quite prominent in busi¬

Solicitor Clifford Walker gave
one of the best and most impres
sive talks at the Baptist Sunday
School last Sunday morning
that has been gWen in some
time. His talk to the little
boys was good and greatly en¬

S. M. Ayers and family moved
into their old home here this
week. About a year ago they
moved to Lavonia, We are-glad
to have this excellent family to
come back as citizens of Carnes -
ville. Mv. Ayers keep a harness
store at Lavonia and leaves his

Section 1. Be it enacted by the
General Assembly of the State of
Georgia, and it is hereby enacted
bv authority of the same, that
from and after the passage of this
act. the above recited act caeatmg
the office os Commissioner ot roads
and revenues in -and for Frank
1 in county, providing for the elec
tion of such officer, and hisdutv.
providing for his salary ahd term
of office, providing tor the manage
ment of county affairs interim.

the same is hereby repealed, and

Section 2. The provision of
this act shall not become effective
until submitted to a vote of Frank
Bn countv, as herein provided.
At the general election to be
held on the first Wednesday in
October next, the qualified voters
ol Franklin county, who favor
abolishing the office of Comm is
sioner of roads and revenues, shall
have written or printed on their
ballots, for which seperate ballots
shall be provided, the following
words: “For abolhing the office
of Commissioner on roads and rev
enues, and those who oppose abol
ishingsaid office, shall have writ
ten or or printed on their
ballots the following words:
•‘Against abollising the office of
Commissioner of roads and reve
nues.”
Should a ma jorilv of the quali
fled voters of said county, voting
at said election upon said ques
tion, vote “For abolishing the of
fice of Commissioner of roads and
revenues”, then ami in that event
this act shall become of full force
and effect, on an after the first
day of January, 1 Oi l, and nototh
vise. Themanageis and supenn
tendents of said general election
are hereby constituted the manag
ers and superintendents of the elec
tion herein provided for, and are
hereby required to keep 2 seper
ate tally sheets and lists of voters
for said election. The vote shall
bu consolidated as the vote in said
general election, and the returns
thereof made to the Ordinary of
said county, and said Ordinary
shall declare the result of said
election.
Section 3, Be it further enact
erl by the autnoruv aforesaid, that
all laws and parts of laws m con
fiict with this act, be and the same
are hereby lepealed.
