There was no opposition to Mr.
Jauldin for ihe Clerks place and

sition for council. Three of the
pandidates for council were on
both tickets. The contest bemg
between W. S. Maoomson and Dr.
f.'M. Freeman. Mr. Macomson
won.

Partee is Refused
New Trial
At Athens,'Monday, Judge C.
H. Bra- ,1 refused a new trial in
the case of J. AV. Par;ee. who is
charged with killing of the Davis
brotlic s at a circus at Lavonia.
Mr. Partee was convicted of
homicide and sentenced to fifteen
years, but Judge Brand in Mon¬
day reduced this sentence to twelve
years.
The case will be carried to rhe
Court of Appeals during the pgm
