Capt. J. H. Martin, of Hawkins
ville, Trustee from the Third Con
gressional District for the Confed
erate Soldiers’ Home of Georgia,
at Atlanta, appeals for help for
the Home through the Sentinel.
The trustees desire to build a
brick edifice and have not the
funds necessary to do so. Capt.
Martin writes the Sentinel that
lie wants to raise $600 by subscrip
tion from the people of his dis

all who subscribe and the amount
subscribed, which will be pub
lished and entered upon the re
cords of the board.
Subscriptions can be handed to
J. W. Bivins, Editor Senttnel,
forwarded to Capt. Martin, or to
W. L. Calhoun, President, Afclan
Let all aid who can, and do
so as early as possible so the Home
can be started.
Will Open on First.
Nothing to the contrary, on or
before the first day of February
next, the wholesale house of
Willis-Wilson Grocery Co. will be
completed and occupied, ready for
business. Tiie delay in getting
material tor the building has ope
rated against an earlier opening
for business, but February first is
really an early date considering
the short time in which the brick
warehouse has been under con
struction .
