Association. On motion Prof.
A. A. O’Kelly was elected presi
dent and Chas. J. Crunkleton sec
retary.
Hon. R. E. A. Hamby addressed
the audience.
On motion Hon. R.E.A. Hamby,
Martin Chastain and Virgil Me-
Crackin were appointed as a com
mittee to draft by-laws and consti
tution for the regulation of the As
sociation. Also to meet on the
last Saturday in July and after this
to the first Saturday in each
month, in Clayton at 10 o’clock
a. 71. sharp.

and Garnett Williams were ap
pointed a committee to see the ed
itor ot Tribune asking him to give
to the Teachers' Arsocialion a
column in his paper for the benefit
of the association.
On motion the assoemton ad
journed until the last Saturday in
July.

church Sunday.
Andrew Watts died with typhoid
fever a tew days ago, near the late
residence of Janies Dock ins and
Wa9 buried at the Dockins’ grave
yard

We expect James Franklin to
open a singing school at Tiger
church July I7. Mr. Franklin is
a popular singing teacher in this
section of the county. He puts
life into his schools.
Dr. W. J. Green is often seen in
this part of the county, as he has
several patients here just now.
Robert Denny and wife visited
friends in Stonepile last Sunday .
Mr. Willard Taylor is teaching
school near Jassieth bridge in Hab
ersham county.
I. J. II. Hunnucutt was seen
here Sunday. He wears his new
suit at Tiger as well as at Tallulah
Honey looks lihe he is just sixteen.
Bart Stonecypher went to the
Falls.
Walter Taylor has returned
home.
J. B. McCrcakin, of Clenison
College. South Carolina, and H-
D. McCrackin, from Cornelia, are
at their old home with their sick
brother Clifton.
County To Be Divided Into School
Districts.
The Board of Education passed
an order last Tuesday to divide the |
countV into school districts. The
plan of districting the county is as
follows;
One member of the board with
the district trustees will define the
lines. Dr. Green and trustees will
dristrict Clayton ; M.W. Swafford
and trustees, Chechero and Tijger;
F. G. Holden and trustees, Mocca
sin and Warwoman (Moccasin has
been divided;) Cicero Blalock and
trustees, Stonepile and Tallulah;
Z ,B. Dillard and truotces, Valiev
und Persimmon.
This committee » to have the
work done by the first Tuesday in
October next, and goes into effect
