John Neville, Tom Price, James Collins , John Lamb and Gus Me- Curry of the valley were out last night taking a moonlight drive and their wagon ran up on the bank of the road and turned over among the rocks and some of them were horri bly mangled about the face. Some of them were literally covered with blood, and we are told Price is not expected to live and that Collier is in a very serious condition. The others escaped serious injury- we arc unable to get the particulars as we are on the eve of going to press A Word To Oar Readers Court week will soon be here and if our readers will come with the proper encouragtment, which is the cash, we will give them an eight page paper and give you one of the liveliest country weeklies in the state. SPECIAL TERM OF HALL COURT To Try Hen Charged With Lynch ing Si Smith. From the Constitution utioi Gainesville, Ga., rAugust 14— Judge J. B. Estes, ot the North er stern circuit, has called a special term of Hall superior court to try Taylor Hamilton, Tom Bryson and Charley Tanner, who were arrested one week ago today, charged with lining in the mob which entered the Hall jail July 14th and shot to death Si Smith, who Killed Judge W. B. Bell, of Habersham county, April 2d last. Tanner and Bryson have been in jail since their arrest and Hamil ton lias been locked up in Atlanta. Several efforts have been made to get the men here out of jail on a writ of habeas corpus, but for some reason or other hearing was post poned from time to time and never came up. Judge Estes returned Saturday from Dawson superior- court, and when the question of a special term was presented to him he issued an order calling on the grand jurv to assemble Wednesday mornig at 10 o’clock to investigate the charges against the accused. If true bills are returned court will immediately convene and the trials will begin. Solicitor General \V. A. Charters will be assisted in the prosecution bv Judge J, B. Jones, of Toeooa, and Colonel George P. Erwin, of ClarXesville Colonel Howard Thompson lias been retained by the defense. What the outcome of of the case will be no one can fore tell. All parties concerned are reticent ivnd will not discuss the case.. The accused stoutly protest tbeir innocence and say they will come oat all right. If true bills are found ugn<nst the men under arrest and their trials occur at once great crowds will be attracted. It promises to be one Ordinary’s Citations. Geogria—Rabun County.
