During our stay With Mr. Wil
liams we visited n cemetery in
which lies a Revolutionary soldier,
a drum major, a great-grandfather
of My. Williams. He ^vas IO7
years old at the time of his death.
The only mark to distinguish the
resting place of the old soldier is a
rough stone, not even dressed, with
the initials ‘‘E-. W.,” which letters
stand ¥0* FdWatd Williams. By
his side lies hie Wife, whose life,
no doubt, was one of privations
and hardships-. The soldier was ju
dnins major in the Revolutionary
•and the war Of 1812. We were
bold that Mi>. Williams was drafted
in England to fight the colonies,
but joined the side of the Revolu
tionists when he lauded on Ameri

Mr. Williams has a fine farm and
