THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE.
Seldom has the country wit
nessed such universal approval
of a tax reduction program as
accorded Secretary Mellon’s pro
posal.
This is probably due to the fact
that the usual talk about tax re
duction is confined 'to glittering
generalities which will not em-
barass a political candidate or
public official with hard cold
facts which must be substained.
Secretary Mellon has given the
people the figures from which
they can draw their own conclu
sions. Instead of sidestepping
the issue, President C oolidge is
outspoken in favor of the Mellon
plan. ‘ t -
This has been a severe blow to
political leaders who would have
dodged the issue and delayed ac
tion until after coming election.

Handkerchiefs ovol In shape are
fashion’s newest fad In England.
Once they were made all shapes. In
17S-1 Louis XVI Issued a law that all
handkerchiefs should be square In
shape, because Queen Marie Antoin
ette remarked that it would be much
neater. Now, cun you understand
why Louis and Marie Antoinette were
beheaded and the revolution come?
