APPLE WEEK
Atlanta, Ca.—Georgia apple
growers are intensely interested
just now in ( National Apple
Week.
We all.know what the doctor
says. “An apple a day keeps
the*medico away,” said Chas. R
Porter, well known capitalist
and interosted in a big apple or
chard at Esoro Hill, Ga., so with
that as a slogan, together with
national apple slogan, “Keep the
Apples Rolling.” National, Ap
ple Week should he generally ob
served. This will be a memor
able week devoted to the king
of fruits—the apple. Naturally,
the purpose of ‘Apple Day’ or
‘Apple Week’ is to bring this
splendid product of the orchard
to the .attention of every man,
woman and child,
For ladies and gentlemen the
apples start all the secretions
into vigorous action and floods
the system with a new tide of
life etc., thus a noted apple ora
tor once delivered himself, and
it. is true today. Mr.. Porter con
tinued. “Every child in this
land of ours should have an ap
ple in his or her school lunch
basket. The school cafeterias
should add them to their service
counters.”/
“v$iy if every high school
student in the United States
would write all they do and don't
know about apples you wouldn't
hardly begin to know the history
of the apple or its 1
human race.
wh'ich gives health, happiness
and good cheer to all mankind.”

THE CHURCHES NEED
By Rev. Geo. W. Seay
God. loving men and women*
who will agonize in prayer, to
Him for grace and power, to
subdue our passions, conquer our]
stubborn wills and overcome our
selfishness and desire to have
our>own way, will d<\ more tp-
Ward supplying our church's
need than all the preaching
that could be done without it.
Observe. I say agonizein prayet^
Pray until we f.eel we have the
answer, and as a church, we
have become, in God’s hands as
the plastic clay in the hands of
the potter: as water, easily di
rected; as 'a loving obedient
child, just wafting it‘s Father's
instructions; having no will of
our own, about His work save
that. His will Ipe done.
And, pray Him and depend
upon Him to ’make known His
will by directing the majority
in our church. *
Wjio will secretly, sincerely,
for Christ’s sake, join hearts in
this.good work?
