Instead of the regular preach¬

people assisted by pastor and k
few older ones organized a B.

manifested and all indications
prove that we will have a wide

“Engines functioned perfect¬
ly,” said Lieutenant Commander
Read, who commanded big sea¬
plane.
The Ford Motor Company hae
just received official advice from
the Navy Department that it was
four Ford Liberty Motor-all built
in the Ford Motor’s shops at De¬
troit - which furnished the power
that drove the NC Four to victo¬
ry in its recent record breaking
flight across the Atlantic from
Trepassy, Newfoundland to Ply¬
mouth, England, adistanceof 4,000
miles. They were regular stock
motors built during the war as a
part of the Ford Liberty Motor
production.
Upon Ins arrival in Lisbon Por¬
tugal, Lieutenant Commander
Read said, “The engines function¬
ed perfectly all the way from
America to Portugal”, And Ameri¬
ca Naval Officers who thoroughly
inspected the NC Four upon its
arrival at Plymouth, England,
stated that the big seaplane was in
even better condition that when
it left America.
The NC Four flight, which has
meant a triumph for American en¬
gineering skill, also adds another
record to Ford achievement.
Estate Deals
The real estate market has taken
some spurt in this section the past few
days. Mr. B. H. Williams has tald
his plantation of 1,700 acres to Mr.
Allgood, of Athens, and is to give po¬
ssession of the place at the end oi the
year. Mr. Williams did not sell his
home in Hamilton, but his future line
of activities are not yet fully settled
upon. This real estate sale was one of
ihe largest that has been made in the
county in recent years.
MrsJ. D. Robinson has just recent¬
ly sold her farm of 202 acres to Col.
A. L. Hardy. This lot corners with
Col. Hard’ys land purchased some
time back off of the Monroe Jones
plantation. It lies in the heart of a
fine farming section.
Home seekers weie here just yes¬
terday from North Carolina, so we
may listen for additional sales
There is a Bteadily increasing demand
for country home in Old Harris We
are in the most favored section of all
the world anyway and folks are be¬
ginning to find it out. We can raise
anything that grows in the far upper
sections of the United States as well
all vegetables, fruits, grains,
etc., of the upper subtropical sec¬
tions. Glory be!
