Owners of small cars can enjoy the same
high relative value in Goodyear Tires that
gives utmost satisfaction to owners of big
costly motor carriages.
They can take advantage of that tremendous
amount of equipment, skill and care employed
by Goodyear to build tires of extraordinary
worth in the 30x3-, 30x31/ 2 -, and 31x4
inch sizes.
They can secure these tires without waiting,
despite the enormous demand, because,
in addition to its larger sizes, Goodyear builds
an average of 20,000 a day in the world’s
largest tire factory devoted to the three
sizes mentioned.
If you own a Ford, Chevrolet, Dort, Maxwell,
or any other car using one of these sizes, go

LAZINESS ACTING AS SPUR
Good Work Done by Those Who Dis¬
like It, and Want to Get
Through and Rest.
The best work is done by the lazy
People who want to get through and
rest.
The industrious, active body, busy
as a lice, and always at it, is very li¬
able to become a putterer.
Mark Twain called attention to the
fart that Hie mil, to whom tlie sage
recommended Hie sluggard to go,
spends most of his energy in running
around like a drunken Indian.
The great humorist hated to move;
he used to give Hie boy in the print¬
ing office a nickel to sweep around
him, so that lie would not have to take
his feet olT the table. At seventy he
confessed that "all exercise is loath¬
some.” *
Laziness is not good in itself; but
when joined to conscientiousness and
a sense of responsibility, ns it often
is, it is the very best worker.
The world’s work is done by those
who do not like it. Nine persons out
if ten would quit what they are do¬
ng if they could.
At the very beginning of Arnold
Bennett’s novel, “Hilda Less ways,” Is
a luminous bit of philosophy:
“Hilda hated domestic work, and
because she hated It she often did It
passionately and thoroughly.”
Mark Twain hated to write.—Dr
Frank Crane, in Farm Life.
MUST CONCENTRATE TO WIk
Though Thorough Absorption May B
Carried Too Far, It Is Necessary
to Success.
There is always danger, when ant
one concentrates, that the concentre
tion will be carried loo far—so fn
that it produces a narrow, one-shh
and warped point of view. The grea
scientist, the great scholar, the grew
thinker in any line is usually not m
all-around “good fellow." “Crabbed,’
“queer,” “peculiar,” “odd,” “funny’
and "warped”—are these not the ad
jectives that generally describe th<
geniuses of the world? The very ef
fort to concentrate on the one sub
jeef which has brought success lias
made it impossible to keep in touc.
with the tliousand-and-one currents of
thought and topics of* conversation
which go to make up comfortable and
easy-going life. Like tiie old sea cap
tain, those geniuses miss something In
their effort to fix their attention on
one tiling.
In spite of this danger, it Is a good
thing to work for concentration. The
likelihood of becoming one-sided is big
where genius is concerned, but then
it can lie excused. Most of us can
safely concentrate our attention and
still feel sjire that we will keep in
touch with the world about us.
