What Must We Know & Do To Be Saved?
We must know God and
we must know how to obey
the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul wrote in 2 Thessalonians
1:7-9, ”And to you who are
troubled rest with us, when the
Lord Jesus shall be revealed
from heaven with his mighty
angels. In flaming fire taking
vengeance on them that know
not God, and that obey not
the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Who shall be punished
with everlasting destruction
from the presence of the Lord,
andfrom the glory of his
power; ” (Bold and underline
throughout is my emphasis.)
This scripture lets us know that
man must know God AND be
obedient to the gospel of Jesus

Christ to escape the punish
ment of being kept from the
everlasting presence of the
Lord.
Coming to know or believe
that ”God is” is the very first
part of our journey with God.
Acts 15:7 tell us,” ...Peter
rose up, and said unto them,
Men and brethren, ye know
how that a good while ago
God made choice among us,
that the Gentiles by my mouth
should hear the word of the
gospel, and believe. ” How
do we ”hear” the word of the
gospel? The gospel message
was spread abroad by preach
ing. ”How then shall they call
on him in whom they have not
believed? And how shall they
believe in him of whom they
have not heard? And how shall
they hear without a preacher?
...So then faith, cometh by
hearing and hearing by the
word of God. ” (Romans
10:15-17).
Earlier in Romans 10 it is
stated that, ’’That is thou shalt
confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus. And shedt believe
in thine heart that God hath
reused him from the dead,
thou shedt be seived. For with
the heeirt mem believeth unto
righteousness; eind with the
mouth confession is made unto
salvation. ”
Man must also repent of
his sins. Acts 17:30 tells us,
”And the times of this igno
rance God winked at; but now
commandeth all men every
where to repent. ” Luke quotes
Jesus in Luke 13:3 and 13:5,
”1 tell you, Nay: but, except
ye repent, ye shall edl likewise
perish. ” Luke also recorded in
Acts 2:37-38, ’’Now when they
heard this, they were pricked
in their heart, and said unto
Peter and to the rest of the
apostles. Men and brethren,
what shall we do? Then Peter
said unto them, Repent, and
be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ
for the remission of sins, and
ye shall receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost. ”
We have demonstrated
here the journey which man
has been instructed through
God’s word to follow so that
he might be, ’’And the Lord
added to the church daily
such as should be sewed. ” Acts
2:47).
Let us briefly review this
’’journey”. In order to be
’’added” to the Lord’s church,
one must:
(1) Hear the word of the
gospel.
(2) Believe that God raised
Jesus from the dead.
(3) Confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus as the Son of
God.
(4) Repent of your sins.
(5) Be baptized for the
remission of sins.
When these parts of the
James Earnhardt
Evangelist Church of
Christ
journey with God have been
accomplished, one is then
’’added to the church” by the
Lord.
The Bible is our guide to life
everlasting with God through
Jesus. Like Jesus, we too must
be obedient to God: ’’Though
he were a Son, yet learned the
obedience by the things which
he suffered. And being made
perfect, he became the author
of eternal salvation unto all
them that obey him. ” (He
brews 5: 8-0).
This is not the end of one’s
journey with God. It is the
beginning! Join with us as
we study God’s roadmap to
heaven.

2nd Amendment Profile
The ’’warp and the woof’-
-length, breadth, and depth-
-of the Second Amendment
matters little; for the perfect
definition of perimeters is
no more (or less) than the
individual interpretation of
the same! For the politician
who is looking to gain votes,
the ’’weapons Ledger” is
exactly what they want it to
say TODAY—never mind to
morrow (or the ramifications
of their stand at the moment).
To the Left Wing, it is the
precise direction that ’’the
fearful always takes”! To
Responsible Citizens (includ
ing Red Necks/Rebels and
affiliates), it gives direction
in no uncertain terms~”stay
outa my stuff’; and to the
villain who is always ready
to ’’claim something for
nothing”—the expectations
of ”no protections” is upper
most in their mind!
While the prime outline of
the Original Draft appears
to cover the safety of every
individual; the precise data
(and what the Drafters had in
mind) will be debated until
the Republic ”is no more”!!
We can be sure of one thing
however; and that is; had no
one seen fit to ’’cover this
base”, America would have
been on the sidelines long
ago. If nothing else, it serves
to keep everyone on their
toes.
I am not sure that a new
wave of chaos has arrived
upon the scene—or that we
have just been made more
aware of ’’what goes down on
a daily basis”; but each and
every traumatic event hits
’’page one”—-and sends all
parties spiraling for the per
fect answer. From the fanati
cal acts of uncouth personali
ties, to the senseless conduct
of the mentally challenged;
and on to the hardened
criminal who ’’serves Satan
for self’-—the suggestions
and recommendations of both
the journeymen and laymen;
are varied and numerous.

Everything from a lock down
to Universal Trust has been
offered up—and I doubt there
will be any great alteration of
statistics in the days ahead.
Since the improbable
posting of owners of legal
weapons by the press in one
northern location—and the
endless chatter of the present
National Administration—
-you can bet that there has
been a drastic increase in
homes who have weapons—
and indeed-multiple capa
bilities of such. The criminal
mind who takes the chance
that a residence (or business)
is not locked, or contains no
protection—is to be likely
in need of ”a box or an urn”
for their remains—for where
we were talking of 300, 000,
000 private weapons last
year—there has been another
Fifty Million added! That
does not take into consider
ation that millions of homes
have installed weaponry (or
protective means such as
Animals —dogs, snakes, and
other)—that can easily claim
the life of an intruder! That
there will be more fatalities
in the future (of both resi
dents and break ins) is a fore
gone conclusion—but know
this—the citizens of America
will not give up their means
of protection—TO ANYONE!
You can take that to the
Bank!! We are not ’’Home
Alone” anymore!!
