Weatherization Assistance

to receive FREE energy
conservation measures. Middle
Georgia Community Action
Agency, Inc. is now accepting
names for our waiting list. The
Weatherization Assistance
Program is offered to hometown
owners & renters to help reduce
the electric and gas consumption
of low-income eligible applicants
while ensuring their health and
safety. Weatherization is not
a home rehabilitation or home
repair program. Weatherization
may be able to provide attic
insulation, floor insulation,
replace space heaters or
furnaces, replace water heaters,
air sealing, weather-stripping,
threshold and glazing. We will
install an energy conservation kit
that includes compact florescent
light bulbs, smoke alarm, carbon
monoxide detector, shower
head, and faucet aerators.

Snap Program Middle Georgia
Community Action Agency,
Inc, is working hard to raise
awareness about food stamps
benefits in the central Georgia
community. Many people have
a difficult time making ends
meet, but by helping them with
the grocery bill, food stamps
benefits allow recipients to
use their limited income on
other important basic needs
like housing, medical costs,
transportation, and utilities.
We can provide information,
assistance in enrollment, and
help with on-line recertification
in the Snap Program. For more

Food preservation, canning
class. Central GATech College,
Crawford Center, is offering a
class in food preservation and
canning. Cost, dates, and times
will be considered once there is
enough interest for the course.

CCFIS Diamond Club Alumni
weekend is scheduled for Feb
ruary 22 and 23, 2013. We are
trying to get the word around to
everyone who has played for
Crawford County Eagles Base
ball. The cost for the weekend is
$50 and will include admission
to the game on Friday night,
participation in the Alumni soft-
ball game, Alumni t-shirt, entry
into the raffle for Saturday night
and chicken plate for the dinner
Saturday night. We will also be
recognizing our former players
during the game Friday night.

8-9, 2013- The 9th Annual
Peaches to Beaches Yard
Sale will take place Friday and
Saturday, March 8th and 9th
from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The 240-mile long sale will
stretch along FHighway 341, the
Golden Isles Parkway and will
bring thousands of shoppers.

Refuge:

9-10 a.m. "The Special Bird of
the Okefenokee”: Learn about
the unique requirements of the
red-cockaded woodpecker on
this short hike on the Upland
Discovery Trail. Meet at the
Visitor Center for a caravan to
the trailhead.
1- 1:45 p.m. "Why Birds are
Cool- and Why Okefenokee is a
Cool Place for Birds”: Birds are
cool because... well, you’ll just
have to come see for yourself.
In this audio-visual presentation,
both the funny side of birds (and
birders) and the serious issues
birds face are illustrated. Visitor

2- 2:30 p.m. ’’Attracting Birds
to Your Backyard”: Ever notice
how some yards are just full of
birds? Glean tips on feeding
these little jewels and how to get
them to nest in your yard. Visitor

for Kids (Big or Little)”: Compete
against an animal in the
