It is said .when a girl marries a man to reform him, tho devil doesn’t worry. Neither would he worry if the prohibition party would marry the third party to reform it.—South ern Star, Hj^Jnte^WjNEJJFCJgDin lor female dlieaita. The first and best security the government can have is its original realty—its soil. There is lio higher and better security than real estate. Then to whom should the govern ment first loan money, the farmer who owns land, or the capitalist who owns war bonds? And besides who needs the money most?—Home Trib une. Try BUCK-DRAUGHT let .‘or Dy.pepda, It doesn’t make a particle of dif ference whether the pension plank of the third party was endorsed as a part of the platform or as a settled resolution. In either event it marks the settled policy of the party to plunder the south, to bestow a large gratuity on the bummers and dead beats of tile north and west—Sparta Ishmaelite. .. Afterward lus friends be came dissatisfied and'to-day had the coroner summon a jury and take up Ids body. Half of its good things cannot be told in the brief space allotted hero, and Bro. Allen, of -toe Gazettk, attends to his busi ness so well that he leaves very little to be told. * * * * * tikton’s onowTii. , This little oity, whicli five years ago consisted of a still, saw mill and depot, now has about 1,200 lubabl tents, Cloven business houses, two restaurants, a good market; one of the best hotels in southwest Georgia, an academy building costing $8,200 which has about ninety pupils in at> tendance, a Methodist church costing $2,200 and a Baptist church in pro cess of erection which promises to be one of the finest in southwest Geor gia. Added to this, it has a mayor and council who are working like beavers to develop their town, and a host of citizens who are ably second ing their efforts. One of their last acts was fixing a license of $250 on retailing cigarettes. These people arc represented by a paper which is conceded to be the most newsy and ably edited country newspaper in Bouthwest Georgia. When the city was first laid out no real estate was sold unless the purchaser agreed to erect a first-class building thereon and no land in tho city is sold to ne groes. About a mile from town the land has been divided up into lots and sold to several darkies who havo built homes and established a town of their oivn. ***** Tobacco culturo is being boomed to a considerable extent in this sec tion, and it is estimated that noarly two hundred acre's will be planted in the weed in tho vicinity of.Tiftou, Messrs. H. H. and W. O. Tift nfc taking a large interest in it*, as they do in everything that tends (to de velop the resources of this unexcelled pine land. Ffty-throo acres will be planted on their farm, two miles from town, for which tho seed have been bedded some time since, and are now nearly large enough to set out. They have throe planting ma chines now in the depot, and propose building five modern barns for curing the green leaf. An expert has been sent from North Carolina by Mr. Snow, who is interested in tho busL ness, to attend to gathering and cur ing the leaves, and experienced to bacco growers hove been here for the past three months attending to the bedding, planting and cultivating. This one farm will do more to dem onstrate whether tobacco can bo grown to a success in this section than a thousand columns of newspa per articles, and tiio Tift brothers arc the men to make a success of it if any one can. • * * * “I have Just recovered from a second attack of the grip this year,” aaya Mr. Jss. O. Jones, publisher of the Leader, Mexta, Texas. “In the taller case I used Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, and 1 think with considerable success, only be ing In bed a little oyer two days against ten days for the first attack. The second attack I am satisfied would have been equally as bad as the first but for the use of this remedy, as I had to go to bed in about alx hours after being struck with it, while in the first case I was able to at tend to business about two days before getting down." 50 cent bottles for said by Tifton Drug Store, and Peters & Be- lote, Cecil. h»4 glared In hla hands by an Kn« India mission. formula of a simple vegetable remedy for tbs speedy and permanent out* of Conaump- tton, Umnehltts, Catarrh, Asthma and all tbniat and f.uug Aifevtlnns, also a positive slid radical for Nervous Debility and nil Nervous Com- M.
