Here is a matter demanding seri

tljat the children of the poor white
farm laborers; tlm people who really
pay the tnxi's, get the least share of
the money raised for soittjolpurposes.

How did (.Hoy got it? Popular ig

Wlnt has been done by her legisla

poor children. For this condition of

The following from a. letter by
Dovid B. Hill to Tammany on the
occasion of their Fourth.of July
celebration, shows clearly his true
and open loyalty to the candidates
chosen by the party. It will be seen
that he realizes that nnity is essential
to party success: “Our course at the
present time is plain. The democra
cy of New York, in the approaching
struggle, shonld present a solid front
to the oonnnou enemy. Loyalty to
the cardinal democratic principles
and the rogulurly nominated candi

Grover pleveland iB undoubtedly

in wliut esteem he iB held by repub

to namo the typical American, the
man who loves and believes in his
country beyoud everything else—the
man who, determining once in what
direction his duty leads, cannot be
swerved from the path—the man
who is doggedly persistent in what
lie believes to be right—the man who
thinks not of self, but of His country
and its needs, I would name Grover
Cleveland. What he line accomplish

possibilities of American citizenship.”
