Raising Homo Supplies.
We are pleased to, note, from re
ports in our weekly exchanges, that
farmers in many counties in Georgia
are determined to raise more home
supplies this year.
In the matter of stock raising,
these farmers have been greatly en
couraged by experiments of the past
year. Some of them turned aside
from cotton long enough tq improve
and caro for their stock, and tho re
sult is they feel like making some
thing more than an experiment of it
this year.
The farmers have at last discover
ed that in raising stock on only a
limited soaie they have been slight
ing one of their best n'ud most re-'
munertui’vo industries, and it tliey
shall put into execution the plans
formulated in this respect for this
year they will surely reap a rich
reward.
“Home Supplies” is a good motto
for every Georgia farmer, this year
and for the years to oome. We read
of a dozen or more farmers in south
west Geoigia who have not only an
abundance of home-raised munts for
their own use, but are' supplying
their lea* fortunate brethren for miles
around at a handsome profit.
We want the farmers of Georgia
to go in and win on this line, and the
signs of tlie times indcate that they
will.—Constitution.

The State Agricultural Society
will hold its regular semi-annual

hold the slimmer meeting in a town
more to the north, and in the moun
tains usually. Tlio last meeting of

as well as a very useful one. It
