Secretary Gresham has “come
through,” and he proves jt by voting
to “turn the rascals out.”
Road-building is a science. There,
ought to be a distinct department in

Gen. Kirby Smith was the last of
the full generals of the Confederacy.
The life of none of them was a
greater success, judged by the highest
standard of excellence.
The patronage mills in Washington
are doing some of the slowest grind
ing ever before known on this earth.
The needy should carry their grist to
some other mill.
The outlook for a large peach crop
is good at this writing. Rut the fu
ture of peaches and candidates is
dreadfully uncertain.
. Canning enterprises are on the in
crease iu Georgia. It is development
in the right direction. The demand
for canned goods in Georgia ought to
hud a Georgia supply.
The anarchist are strewing dyna
mite bombs and infernal machines
around promiscuously in the capital of
Italy. They ought to be summarily
dealt with. They are worse than the
wild beasts of the jungles.
If the democrats were in posses
sion of all the others iu all the states,
the party couldn’t afford to put sugar 1
back on the dutiable list. Let it alone,

Rackward, turn backward, 0 time,
in thy flight, give us duly again, just
for one night; we are disgusted with
snow and with ice; hear our warble

some dog days, and give us the sun;
give us mnsipiitoes and give us flies,
but turn on some hual beford every
one dies; bring back our straw hat
and good linen pants; give us a
chance to live, give us a chance!
No man has a right to kick against

Tin* Cholera Outlook.
With a fresh start of the cholera
in Europe, the -continued immigra
tion from that side to this, and the
World’s Fmr attracting such crowds
as cannot possibly have recourse to
ordinary sanitary precautions, tl.c
conditions are very inviting to an
American epidemic. After all, the
people who cannot afford to take in
the great exposition may be consid
ered the best off. In the meantime
no locality should lose sight of the
fact that precautions should be made
against the scourge.—Hrunswick Ad
