very numerous in the city last week.
Mrs. C. W. Fulwood and children
spent last Sunday wiili relatives at
Adel.
Tifton is in the best sanitary con
dition of any city, large or small, in
the state.
Col. John Morrow, of Ty Ty, was
in the city last Saturday afternoon
on business.
Mr. James F. Paul, living near
Tifton, visited relatives and friends
at Isabella last we.uk.
Hard times is fast becoming a
tiling of the past. Let it go and
never come back again!
The eool nights of last week were
very refreshing; some say it gave
them a new lease on life.
In Mr. Shaw Tifton has a first-
class blacksmith, and it is hoped he
will be sustained by the people.
Mayor Fulwood had several cases
of drunk and disorderly, and fight
ing, to adjudicate last Saturday.

We learn that Mr. H. J. Brinson,
manager of Hotel Sadie, has gone to
Chicago to see the World’s Fair.

The Knights of Love, a colored be
licvolenl order, is having a big festi

for the benefit of the, order. There
are a great many visitors from Adel,
Alapalni, Enigma and Ty-Ty.
The tjAZtn'Tv is informed that the
Georgia Southern and Florida rai 1-
- road is carrying sufficient insurance
tu cover every bale of cotton de
stroyed by lire while in its posses
sion. This fact is a groat induce
ment for our farmers and business
men to patronize that road in the
shipment of the floeoy staple.
.Airs. Corker, who has been in the
city for a week or two visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Cole,
was suddenly called home Saturday
night by a telegram from her hus
band who, it is thought, was afraid
if she remained any longer would be
prevented by quarantine regulation
from returning home for too indefi
tiitc a period.
The Puul-HamUn land ease, which
has been.in the courts for some time,
was concluded by arbitration last
Friday afternoon and equitably set
tled between the parties. The arbi
trators—-Messrs. T. M. Groeti, C. A
WilliAins and F. G. Boatright—gave
Mr. Paul t,en acres of the land
which Mr. Hamlin claimed under Ills
deed, lying between the latter’s im
provements and the McCreu place.
The award has been made the judg
ment, of the superior court amd the
Paul deed to Handin will be reformed
in accordance therewith.

need for provisions to supply daily
food for all classes of people in that
city, and asking that the attention of
the people of lower Georgia be called

especially need smoked and sailed
meats, flour, meal, grits, potatoes,
c.off-e and sugar. Please bring this
matter to the attention of the people
of your town and section, and re

such contribution* as can be secured
