The movement in hehalf of a win
ter resort hotel for Tifton should be
gin to assume tangible shape.
• Mrs. 1.. 11. Patterson, of Madison,
Fla., is visiting in the city and a guest
of her sister, Mrs. 13. T. Allen.
The Gazkttk is the paper for the
people of this section to read. It
gives all tho news in which they aro
interested.
It is getting time for the people of
this section to be advised who will do
their ginning this fall and what the
charges will be.
The best and cheapest job printing
can be lmd at the Gazkttk Publish
ing House. Prompt service guaran
teed. Givo us a trial.
Quite a number of Tiftonians at
tended divine services at Hickory
Springs church, seven miles north
west of the city, last Sunday.
The work on the Tifton artesian
well goes bravely on. Tho contract
or keeps “picking away” at it with
confidence, against the most adverse
circumstances.
Hon. YV. II, Love and family. Mr.
\V. XV, Timmons, his mother, his
mother-in-law and his family, and
Miss Emma Turner are rusticating at
the While Sulphur Springs, Fla.
Next Friday afternoon there will
bo a meeting of tho Tifton (1314th)
District democratic club to complete
the arrangements for the tug barbecue.
Let every democrat in the district be
present.
The Gazkttk appropriates this bit
of good advice for tlm citizens of
Tifton from tho Thomasvillo Times
Enterprise: “Let’s have loss political
talk now and more about building up
and improving the city.”
Mr. Geo. II. Padrick has gone to
tho Northern and Eastern markets to
buy a mammoth stock of fall and
winter merchandise for lus enterpris
ing firm. That Padrick Bros, will
have many bargains in store for their
customers goes without saying,
The city scrape lifts arrived and
Love avenue is being torn up—root
and branch. 'Flic street committee
should employ some one to use the
machine who understands how to
work it; otherwise they will have to
pay too high for their experience
with it.
Tifton merchants are making large
preparations for rushing fall and win
ter trade. They will not be slow in
letting the people know about the
great bargains they will have m store
for them. In this respect the Gazkttk
will bo brilliant with good news for
the people throughout tins section.
The Messrs. Tift will harvest from
fifty to seventy-five tons of bay this
season. And this reminds us that
Mr. C. A. Williams, Tifton’s far-see
ing liveryman, is also “making hav
