Cru.'ii., September II.— September
is hot hot like a September in south
east Florida. (>ld Allen T. Carter, of
Kumplci county, used t,o say: “If
you like broiled liver, pick cotton in
September I” And then came also
the dancing chills, and altogether, it
is an undesirable season in the stmi-
tropies, Our own September in dear
old Georgia, with its
"Jfew upon the (Iowan,"
is proving unhealthy.
Mr. T. M. Mauntl is still very low.

I visited Sparks Sunday nfternoon
and4omul that little town looking as
thrifty as ever. I learned that Sparks
ami Nashville will he connected by
a telephone line in the near future,
I cannot hoc what has prevented this
telephone line for so long. Sycamore
and Irwinviile are connected in this
Wily and surely Sparks mid Nash
villo can afford one if they can. A
line would do well from Nashville to
Sparks and then if S|mrks and Adel
would ever get on speaking terms, it,
could be extended to Adel. Whoop it
up hoys, it, is the best idea that lias
struck you yet.
Miss Maggie Uni-ton was visiting
