DROPPED OUT!
Men who Wear Clothes
Might ;is well buy garments
that fit and wear well as to
buy garments * that don’t fit
and don’t wear long, either.
It’s just as easy and cheap to
make Clothes that fit as to
make clothes that don’t fit.
It’s only a question of “know
how.” We have found a
manufacturer who really
knows how to cut and make
garments for men and boys,
and we’re going to stick to
him. If you want fit and du
rability, nobody can suit you
better than we can.

CORRESPONDENCE.
The Labor of An Efficient Corps of
County Reporters.
Bolioinlun’t. Budget.
Ckcic,, November ‘28.—A run to
Macon on the Georgia Southern rail,
road revealed some facte worthy the
reading of the people in Bcrrietj,
The first matter that occurs to my
mind is that the Georgia .Southern
and Florida railroad has an gentle
manly a wet of officials in control of
it a# any other road can boast of, and
the management is fast making the
road first class, as is its equipment.
Success to them.
The next thing is, our people
ought to have a new sobriquet. “The
long cotton holt” should he in lieu of
“the wiregrass belt”; our people as
the independents. While want stares
the citizens of the exclusive short
cotton sections of our beloved Geor
gia in the face, we here can, by the
system of our farmers, snap our fin
gers in Ids faco. Happily that diver
sified farming which makes a little of
all food crops insures a support to
every tiller of the soil; and our cli
mate, admitting as it does of perpet
ual planting, insures n perpetual gath
ering, and the diversity prevents glut
ting the market. Glorious South
Georgia! Wo are writing a'copy the
other portions of the state would do
well to imitate. Wo have been told
by a few mistnkon men when leaving
hero that they wore going to God’s
country. Now, I venture the asser
tion that our people are in hotter
shape us a whole to go into winter
quarters than any section of the state.
Their long cotton lias placed them in
a situation to take a little advantage
of tariff reform; they have some
money to buy with,
Monomctalism — Shermanism >— is
75 per cent below par in Georgia.
Since the lato slump they are shak
ing like they saw a ghost. A man
may have dust thrown in his eyes
until lie is blind, hut ho can slill feel.
People vviio wanted linancial reform
were branded as Pops., soreheads,
etc., and the valiant gold hugs wen
going to bury them deeper than the
Pops. Wo have had nu extended
notice of the funeral yet. Times
will bo better anon. Gradually tile
people are assorting their prerogative
to rule themselves and manage fur
themselves. Political bosses are get
ting below par.
And now the school teachers are
beginning to swarm;
The Cecil Lumber company lias
crossed the Georgia Southern and
Florida road and is going toward
Nashville. Thu citizens of that good
town and vicinity should not let tlio
opportunity slip to double the value
of their property, and more than
double their convenience. Ity all
means, they should lay aside thv idea
that some company will build a road
to Nashville and not call on them
for any assistance. The people should
know tlint millmcn do not care for
their interests enough to build them
a railroad, and that a tram is tran

ran into hts buggy and caused his
horse to run away with him. The
two runaway teamn ran on, overtook
Mr. Eddie Dell, with two or three of
the Dell family in bis buggy, fright
ening his mule and causing him to
run away.. The full amount of the
casualties were three broken buggies.
Mr. Parks’ horses went home, carry
ing with them some of the harness
and pieces of the buggy tongue.

The rain of last week cleared away
and left the weather fair and cool.
The farmers have about finished
gathering the crop of 1894, and some
of them have already commenced to
prepare their lands for the crop of
1896.
Here is the record of one of our
farmers J. li. Durham, on a one-liorse
farm this year. He cultivated fifteen
acres and gathered 135 bushels corn,
2,000pounds Seed cotton and SObush-
els sweet potatoes, he used no guano,
lie is fifty-five years old, and received
a wound in the late war that almost
disqualified him for work.

It Is
Intensely interesting to see how o,ur competitors
try to follow us—copy our words. That is easy;
copy our method, that is also easy; copy our values,

know what goods are when they see them. We
