from Mr. Harry Kent, of Tifton, Ga.,
a former resident 6f this place. In
the letter Mr. Kent speaks in glow
ing terms of his adopted state. He

The Georgia Bon (hern and Flo
Railroad sold on Thursday last to a
North Carolina tobacco factory. 20,-
00te pounds of tobacco raised at Cy-
cloneta farm, Irwin eminty, which is
owned and opernted by the Georgia
Southern aim Florida road. The to
bacco broiight 61 cents per pound ut
the farm, and was raised on land fiat
is now producing from 700 to 1,000
pounds of tobacco per acre. As high
as 1,200,pounds of tobacco lias been
raised on lands in southern Georgia,
and it is believed the yield can be
increased to a considerable extent.
The oost of producing the tobacco
sold the other day was $30 per acre
which includes lubor, fertilizer and
everything necessary to the cnllivntion
and gathering of the crop.
