Dun’a Review says the expected
business revival is to come in tho fut
ure, and, perhaps, in the remote fut
ure. Tho failures in the United
.States last wook were 854 against

Four of the
populist elected to
eounty offices in Tnylor county at the
January election—shoriff, treasurer,
surveyor and coroner—have tnlled to
give bond and their commissions have
been returned to Gov. Atkinson.
Oity Council Proceedings-
Council met in the office of Col, C.
When asked by a friend what he
thought of newspapers, Thomas Jef
ferson promptly replied: “Wore it
left to me to decide whether we
should have a Government without
newspapers, or newspapers without a
Government, I should not hesitate a
moment to prefer the latter.”
Thu entire Georgia delegation in
congress are opposed to President
Cleveland's llnaneial policy, us tx
pressed in his latest message, unless
it be Turner, llussell and Moses. The
first of these is non-committal and
the other two have not expressed
themslvcs; if so tho Oazkttk has not
seen or heard what they had to say.
Here is an absolute fact from the
Perry Home Journul, and as applica
ble to any county as Houston: “A
Houston raiKod horse is worth double
its viiltio to the. eounty. The animal
and its value in money are both kopt
here. This is as true of anything else
produced nnd usod in tho county,
that would otherwise lie bought else
where.”
in every progressive community
of Georgia thorn is ft desire to offer
some influence to seoure enterprises.
The State constitution standH'liketlio

vent a step forward. Tho people of
Georgia want an amendment that will
leave open to the State nnd her com
munition the proper discretion for any
emergency.—Albany Herald.
It is said now (hut tho suit pending
between oorlftln bondholders and tho
reorganisation eommitteu of tlm Geor

not delay the sale in accordance with
the decree of the court. Tho (|Iich-

others the Soahord Air Line and still
others thu llondholdurs represented
by the committee. Tho fl.t/.icrru can
