commenced, and the amounts added
to farms m the immediate vicinity of
Tifton within twelve months.
To a conservative observer, this
showing for one year is very credit
able, especially when we remember
that it is less than a half decade since
Tifton began to ptit forth any claim

Tifton is troubled very little witli
this class, and that the wide-awake,
progressive people of this vicinity

are going right ahead building, on a
sound basis, the foundation of what
will, in a few years, be the Metropo
lis of South Georgia.
I will not attempt to mention the
many agricultural prospects, some of
which are already consummated
trades, nor will tbit article encom
pass all of the minor industries of
year.
We will commence at “Little
Pennsylvania," for - ’tui there that
most of the sturdy sons of the state
from which it derives its name locate.
A year ago tho only signs that human
feet had ever trod its soil were the
