PAY YOUR DEBTS.
A Railroader Speaks
FOR THE
NEXT
30 DAYS!
How a 130 Bill Helped to Ease Hard Timet.
Pay your debts. Onc c.f the crying
needs of the day is a revival of flood old-
fashioned personal honesty, If the man
who has money would pay what he owes
his creditor cold pay somebody he owes,
and that money might pay debts several
times its value in a few hours. '
The News,saw a practical illustration
of this a few days ago. One gentleman
paid another a $20 bill on a debt, that
gentluman paid it to a third one, the
third one paid it to a fourth and the fourth
paid it to the gentleman who had first
paid out the money. The $20 bill paid
-$10i) dollars worth of debts, and in less
than an hour was again in the hands of
the citir.cn who started it on its debt-pay
ing mission.
The man who holds money dams the
stream of prosperity and delays the com
ing of good limes, Pay your debts.-—

A Good Fruit Year.
We predict that 1895 will bo a good
fruit yenr in Southwest Georgia.
The shivering that coincs with such
cold weather ns we are now experiencing
making us want to nestle close to a glow
ing lire for a few days, will not be left
uncompensated by Nature.
The principal, or we might say the on
ly, climatic obatnelo to successful fruit
culture in this section is tho unseasonable
warm weather that wo frequently have
' i winter, onusiug the sap in tho fruit to
i'iso nud the trees to take on their now
foliage and bloom too soon—only to be
nipped by a freeze in March, or perhaps
early in April.
But this winlor wo have bad enough
hard cold to kocp tho sap down, and the
fruit treks will not lie liable to put on
their foliage and begin to bloom before
it will be safe for them to do so. The
effects of the present cold spell will lie to
harden the trees and to prevent premature
spring growth. With such a scusoii we
may always expect, an abundant fruit
crop in Southwest Georgia.—Albany
