reporting the monthly teacher’s insti
tute at Nashville, says: “The essay on
Physical Culture, by ’Miss Martha
Williams, of the Tifton Institute,was
a treat to the audience, ..She, in a
few well chosen words; showed how
important this much neglected sub
ject could be made to the pupils,both
in point of recreation and physical
advantage.”

Mr, J. F. Strohell has purchased

being made along the Brunswick and

The school at Alupuhu is progresH-
ng finely under the administration of

is doing deserves the warmest com
mendation. There is no teacher in
Berrien county more enthusiastic in
the cause of education than the prin
cipal of the Alapalm academy. He
loves his work, hence there is no won
der his efforts are fruitful of good
results.
There has been some changes made
in the mercantile interests of Alapalm
recently. The partnership of Dor
miny & Euenfield has dissolved, Mr.
Dorminy retiring. 'The death of the
lamented Daniel Turner has resulted
in the formation of n partnership be
tween his eon, Mr. J. S. Turner, and
Mr. James L. Paulk, two of her most
sterling young business men; they
possess all the element* of success,
and the Gazette hopes they will at-
tain to it.
Patronize the merchants who are
constantly looking after the interests
of their customer*. It is mi acknowl
edged fact that Padrick Bros, have
been the incans of drawing trade to
Tifton that would have gone else

The editor of the Worth County

perative summons from the sheriff of

it looks as if lie will have to work.
Valdosta has a fighting chance for
another railroad. Feriuindina wants
a road, and wants it so bad that her
citizens have raised the cash to build
fifty miles of one, and by utilizing
a trum road, can reach Jasper. Val
dosta would like to have the road,
hut. as tho distance is 110 miles, her
citizens are canvassing lively to see
if slit cau pay for the other 80 miles.

dosta a few days since, but as they
did not meet a warm reception they
went home, and u delegation from
Valdosta returned the visit lust week.
The matter still hangs fire.
