^corgii! Sunday Schools.
The State .Sunday-School Associa
tion hold its annual convention in
Savannah on Tuesday and Wednes
day of last week. It was an interest
ing and harmonious session. The at
tendance was not as large as was ex
pected, but the enthusiasm was un
bounded. The reports show an in
creased interest throughout the slate,
but the progress made was not what
it shoulu have been; south Georgia
seems to have taken the lead.
The election of officers resulted as
follows: Asa G. Chandler, Atlanta,
president; JainesT. Wells, Savannah,
vice-president; Fred T. Lockhart, Au
gusta, Secretary; Miss Lulio R. Pitts,
Calhoun, corresponding secretary; F.
Etheridge, Jackson, treasurer.
The new executive committee is com-
>osed of W. J. North an, chairman,
William Shaw, John M. Green, A.
W. Bealer and W. S. Witham, At
lanta; V. L. Stanton and D. B. Sweat,
Way cross; T. W. Dimmock, Carroll
ton; P. Pelham, Ty Tv; 1!. B, Rep
pard, Savannah; J. W. Wheatley,
Americus; J. W. Wallace, Augusta;
Aaron Roff, Calhoun; J. T. Duncan,
Donglasville; M, A. Mathews, Dal
ton; Thomas Moore, Bolton.
It was decided to re •district the
state and the matter was referred to
a special committee of which R. B.
Reppard, Savannah, is chairman. It
is very probable that it will result in
tlie formation of a district composed
of tlie counties of Irwin, Worth, Col
quilt and Berrien, with B. T. Allon,
superintendent, and J. L. Herring,
secretary. This arrangement will
give general satisfaction to the coun
ties interested.
The time and place for the next
convention was left to tho decision of
tlie excoutivo committee, hut the con
census of opinion was that it will be
held in some middle Georgia town
cither in August or September, 189C.
Among other tilings arranged by
the Sunday-school workers of Savan
nah for the pleasure of the conven
tion were a visit to tho warships and a
picnic at Tybee."'
Tho Berrien county representative,
B. T. Allen, was happily given a
homo with Mrs. Edcnfield, 109, Duffy
street, who, with her charming daiigli
tors—Misses Susie, Essie aim Maud
made their delegates feel entirely
and doubly at homo. The Berrionitc
will over cherish tho sweet memories
which cluster around his visit to tins
happy home,where God is reverenced
and honored.
Tlie young ladies are members of
the Duffy street Baptist Sunday
school.

castor oil is being adulterated 50 per

some.

Hero is a a paragraph full of good,
hard common sense from tlie Mariet

a mistake ho never tolls it: if a lawyer
makes a mistake he crawls out of it,
but if an editor makes a mistake he
puts it on a large sheet of paper for
