The two-year-old trees were very little
behind, the principal difference be
ing they were not so uniformly filled
with fruit, but they demonstrated
the fact that they would bear in pay
ing quantities at the age of two years.
The Japanese varieties seem to do the
best in this latitude. The Burbank,
Abundene, Satsuma and Kelsey are
the varieties that have been planted
here, and are surpassing the most
sanguine expectations.
