The little one-year-old child of
Mr. Lawrence Rutland died on Tues
day morning last, and was buried at
the cemetery at Ty-Ty church that
evening.
Misses Ellen and Jettie Timmons,
who were visiting friends at Alapaha
have returned home, they will leave
for Gainesville Female Seminery, on
Monday next.

Walter P. Corbet, of Macon, and
formerly with Jno. Brown, of New
York Lifelnsurance. Co.,who paid our
little city a visit early in the week,
has been appointed superintendent of
agencies and examined by the New
York Life for the states of Tennessee,
Georgia and Florida a well deserved
promotion.
Mr. II. S. Murray, of Tiftou, came
up Saturday to join Airs. Murray
and Miss Fulwood on a visit to Mrs.
Murray and Mrs. DeLoach. Mr.
Murray is one of the brightest young
men of Tifton, and muy apply at the
next term of Berrien superior court

Capt. W. W. Timmons is talking
of replacing Hotel Sadie with a new
modern brick structure, with larger

ances. Capt. Timmons is a wide
awake and enterprising gentleman,
and what lie undertakes he will push
to rapid completion. A building of
this class is what Tifton needs that
can accomodate both trauscient and
and permanent winter tourists. The
present' building is entirely inade
quate for both the commercial and
tourist trade.
The Tifton Orchestra, composed
of Dr. Farmer and Messrs. Ilex and
Hartsfield and son, have the Junior
Gazette man’s thanks for a delight
ful serenadeWednesday night of this
week, and for some of the most de
licious music to which we have ever
listened. Some men are born to mu
sic; Borne acquire it by main strength
while still others never get it all, and
never find it out. This quartette
are born musioians, and this natu
ral talent they have added to by care
ful study and persistent practice, un
til their ability of performance and
execution is second to none in this
section.
Two of onr bcaux-ideals, who have
