It is to be regretted that Tifton

rely upon our natural superiority

A country newspaper publisher
sizes up the “8pan„of life” atf'follows:

it and gets 0; it is christened and the
minister gets 85, and the editor
writes it up and gets 00; it marries

There are millions of dollars spent
by Americans in Europe every year,
to say nothing of the millions carried

County Jail iviissliig.
The funniest story that has bob
bed up in a long time has been wired
from Winnarnae, hid., and relates the
fuet that the county jail, with its
contents disappeared in the night.
Winnarnae is in Pulaski county.
On the night of September 11 the
jail was stolen mid no trace of it
could be found. It was this way:
The old jail was torn down to make
place for a new one. In the mean
time a freight car on the Panhandle
side track was sheeted with iron,
barred up, and used as a temporary
jail. There were three prisoners in
it, one Weary Wraggles, arrested for
chicken stealing, and two men in
dicted for assault. Sometime in the
night a through freight train coupled
on to the jail by mistake and carried
it off.
